The biggest headache for owners of newly bought dogs is how to teach them how to defecate. When a dog first arrives home, it will definitely not go to the bathroom and will definitely defecate and urinate everywhere. At the beginning, we need to determine a designated location for the dog to urinate: before bringing the puppy home, we need to find a location in advance, and in the future, we will train the puppy to urinate at this designated location. At first, the puppy may not adapt well and may even get angry, but it's okay to stick to this location. It's best to stay away from the puppy's food or nest. Over time, the puppy will gradually get used to it.

Induce the puppy to learn how to defecate at designated locations. The general rule for puppies is that they will defecate and defecate within 30 minutes after eating or waking up. By utilizing this characteristic, we can observe the performance of the puppy and then lure it in. For example, we always pay attention to our dog after meals or when we wake up. Once we notice that the puppy is about to urinate, such as turning in circles or sniffing around, we should guide the puppy to the correct location.

Once the dog defecates at a designated location, be sure to encourage it. For example, give a favorite snack or a piece of beef, and encourage it. Gradually, the little dog learned that coming here to defecate was the right thing to do, and the good habit of defecating at designated points was also developed.

If you find your dog using the restroom outside of the designated area, do not tolerate it. Instead, you should loudly say "no" to the dog in the area where it caused trouble, and gently tap the dog's buttocks to make the dog understand that you have done something wrong. In addition, it is important to clean up the feces and feces left by the dog as soon as possible, and thoroughly clean them, as there may be a special odor left on the area where the dog pees once. Maybe the dog will go there to defecate.

In short, dogs often want to use the restroom after eating or waking up. If the dog is spinning back and forth in place at this time, it is likely to be looking for a place to pee. At this point, you can say "wait a moment" or "no," and immediately lead it to the designated toilet until it finishes urinating before letting it out. When taking your dog to the restroom, do not hold it and use a leash to pull it. This can help the dog quickly familiarize itself with the route to the restroom. In addition, do not let the dog move freely when taking it to the restroom. Be sure to watch the dog defecate and let them know that "if they don't defecate here at this moment, they won't have the freedom.".
